Casey Morrow, CNM, APRN

Owner of Safe Haven Midwifery

“As a midwife, I believe healthy families and societies find their source in healthy women. I seek to help women honor their natural hormonal cycles from their first period until graduating into menopause.”

Hello! My name is Casey, and I’m honored you are considering home birth! My midwifery journey began early as I attended prenatal visits during my mother’s pregnancies and witnessed home births of my five siblings. I was blessed to grow up knowing that pregnancy and birth should be viewed as normal life events. I saw that women could embrace the work of birth with the loving and attentive support of a midwife, partner, and the sacred support of other women in the safety of her own home. By age 13, I knew midwifery was calling me.

I struggled with symptoms of hormonal and metabolic imbalance throughout my teenage years and into my 20’s. Looking back, I’m saddened that I completed nursing and midwifery training with only being taught ways to mute the symptoms I experienced. Thankfully my belief in the wisdom of our bodies motivated me to dig deep and learn ways to optimize and heal.

As a midwife, I believe healthy families and societies find their source in healthy women. I seek to help women honor their natural hormonal cycles from their first period until graduating into menopause. I believe each pregnancy and birth is a sacred journey for the entire family. Being a midwife literally means being “with women”. I know that optimizing health goes beyond the technicalities of ordering and interpreting data and is made complete by addressing the emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects that contribute to overall well being.

I began my career with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 where I worked briefly in medical-surgical nursing before transitioning to labor and delivery. I continued gaining nursing experience until returning to graduate school in 2015 and graduating with my Master’s of Science in Midwifery in 2017. I have since worked in a growing freestanding birth center and then a busy OB/GYN practice and hospital collaborating with physicians on low and high risk pregnancies. Safe Haven Midwifery was birthed in 2021, and I provided families with prenatal care and home birth.

I am now providing virtual care for well woman visits, hormonal imbalances including fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, painful periods, and subfertility. If you are pregnant and seeking to make informed decisions, I offer prenatal and postpartum consults. For residents of Virginia and Maryland, I can provide lab, imaging, and medication orders. For clients elsewhere, I offer in depth consultations with a plan to complete lab work or help formulate requests for your current medical provider.

Thank you for considering me to walk alongside your unique journey!
